Apple acquires Gliimpse, a health data startup

Apple is known for buying smaller tech companies now and then, and that's exactly how they put it each time after an acquisition. According to Fast Company, Apple has now acquired Gliimpse, a personal health data startup, that was founded in 2013 by Anil Sethi and Karthik Hariharan.Sethi, said to be a serial entrepreneur started, has worked as a systems engineer at Apple during late 1980s. Gliimpse's personal health data platform allows any American to collect, personalise, as well as share a picture of their health data. This acquisition is said to have taken place earlier this month but the company decided to be tight lipped about it.Needless to say. the acquisition is aimed at sprucing up Apple’s efforts in digital health. The company already has services such as HealthKit CareKit, and ResearchKit. "That's in line with Gliimpse's mission of uniting disparate streams of health information," the report adds.There is no official announcement from Apple or Gliimpse. However, Apple did acknowledge the acquisition and told the news site, "The company has now confirmed the purchase, saying: "Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans."
