Samsung launches Galaxy A27 5G in India with 120Hz AMOLED display, AI features

Samsung has revealed the prices of its new Galaxy A27 5G, the latest entrant in its budget smartphone lineup. Starting at Rs. 28,999, the company says the device is part of its effort to "democratise innovation" by bringing AI features, long-term software support and updated hardware to a more affordable price point.

The Galaxy A27 5G is available in three variants: 6GB RAM + 128GB storage priced at Rs. 28,999, 8GB + 128GB at Rs. 31,999, and 8GB + 256GB at Rs. 37,499. Buyers can avail a Rs. 3,000 bank or UPI cashback. The phone will be offered in Light Green, Light Pink and Black colour options.

The Galaxy A27 5G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. It is powered by Qualcomm's 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

Camera Upgrades

For photography, the smartphone includes a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. It also features a 12-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera supports 4K video recording, while software features include Object Eraser, Edit Suggestions and My Filter.

The device comes with several AI-powered features, including Circle to Search with Google, Voice Transcription with support for 22 languages, Google Gemini and Perplexity integration, Bixby, and Live Transcription for calls and voicemail in English, Hindi and Gujarati.

The Galaxy A27 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging support. Samsung says the device will receive six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades, along with six years of security updates. It also includes Samsung Knox security, Knox Vault and Samsung Wallet with support for Tap & Pay, UPI payments, Digital IDs and travel documents.
