Biostar G41D-M7

The Biostar G41D-M7 is a notch better than its counterparts with regard to design. Most G41-based motherboards don’t have a heatsink for the southbridge and the parallel port is usually provided in the form of a header that requires a separate header cable. Biostar has paid close attention to the design of this board and as a result it’s flawless.Apart from these two plus points, the G41D-M7 is like any other entry-level G41-based motherboard. It supports all Intel processors in the LGA 775 package and the maximum installable memory is 8 GB. The chipset features GMA X4500 integrated graphics and interconnects with ICH7 southbridge, which offers four SATA ports and eight USB ports (four via onboard headers). A PCIe x16 slot and two PCI slots are provided for adding a graphics card and other expansion cards such as a TV tuner card and sound card.

The G41D-M7 also sports a good layout apart from good looks. The area around the CPU socket is unobstructed and the RAM slots are well-spaced. So there’s a lot of room for air circulation around the top and center of the board where the core components lie.

The G41D-M7 performs as well as any other G41 or G43 motherboard. Though its feature set is limited, you can build an entry-level, mid-range or a high-end PC depending on the applications you use.
