The time traveller
Complete with a promotional video and an updated logo, YouTube goes back to 1911, even before the internet came into existence. The ‘revisiting viral pictures 1911’ video is a dummy visual of what the internet would have looked like had it existed back then.
A scratchy, black-and-white video can be found on the website’s homepage. Taking the Fool’s day fervor ahead, they have also placed a small icon beside every video on the site. This classic 1911 icon, when clicked will transform the new-age videos to grainy, yellowish, old school looking lot. An early 20th century piano soundtrack accompanying each of these videos completes the 100-year old aura.
The video stars all YouTube sensations like Annoying Orange, Rickroll (Ruth Roll in 1911 vernacular) and Keyboard Cat, albeit in their 1911 avatar. We did find this attempt by YouTube quite interesting. Our verdict: Get prank-ed!
