Xiaomi will launch Mi smartwatch in the second half of 2016, claims company

Xiaomi's rumoured smartwatch may finally make an appearance this year. Xiaomi's Co-Founder and Vice President Liu De has reportedly confirmed the Mi smartwatch at an event in Beijing. In addition, the company is also expected to announce the Mi Max smartphone alongside the new MIUI 8 ROM and new Mi Band 2.According to a report by GizmoChina, the launch of the smartwatch has been slightly delayed as the CEO of Huami, the company which actually manufacturers the Mi Band, had revealed the Mi Band as well as the Mi smartwatch will meet us in Q2 2016.De also stated that that currently, the company has no plans to release automobiles, unlike competitors such as LeEco. However, one can expect products such as electric bikes and self-balancing walking robots. Lastly, Xiaomi will also focus on offline outlets this year. According to the report, one can expect 60 such outlets by the end of the year.After numerous teasers, rumours and leaks, Xiaomi announced via a Weibo post and its official twitter handle that it will be launching its 6.4-inch Mi Max phablet on May 10 as well. It was just recently that we got out first official glimpse of the smartphone along with an idea of its size. Seems that even with its purported 6.4-inch display, Xiaomi has made a number of tweaks to ensure that users get a better screen to body ratio ensuring that the physical size of the smartphone does not grow too big with a larger than life display. Xiaomi’s earlier teaser that showed up at the Mi forums confirmed the above revealing how the smartphone snuggly fits into a regular jeans pocket as shown in the image below.
