News has it that the white Nexus 4 is for real, after all. Guys at Android and me have managed to lay their hands on the white Nexus 4 smartphone and say that "it's a carbon copy of the previous Nexus 4, just with a different color casing".
But wait, there's more to this news. They also say that the white Nexus 4 will arrive on the Google Play Store on June 10, with Android 4.3 in tow.
The report adds, "Sources at Google say they wanted to demonstrate their ability to roll out new services and APIs without upgrading the Android firmware, and it appears they made their point." Android 4.3 is expected to be a rather minor update, according to the report. It adds that the developer API level should go up to v18, receive support for Bluetooth Smart and, maybe, OpenGL ES 3.0.
Hitting Play store on June 10?
In fact, only a couple of days ago it had been speculated that the Nexus 4 could soon have a twin. At the time, the white piece had found its way into the hands of Google+ user Ervin Sue, who alleged that he bought it off a website.
It was reported that the new scheme seen wasn’t a pure white one. The phone appeared in a two-tone finish, with the front being left the same in a black finish. Since its launch in November last year, the phone has been revamped. There were speculations that a 32GB LTE Nexus 4 could also be unveiled at Google I/O.
