Popular multimedia messaging platform WhatsApp is working to bake Payment options inside the app. According to a new report by WABetaInfo, the latest Beta version of WhatsApp for Android, 2.17.295 has uncovered hints at the upcoming payments feature.[caption id="attachment_1399799" align="alignleft" width="380"] Representational image.[/caption]The payments interface is a hidden feature in the WhatsApp beta so you can expect changes in the interface. The interesting thing to note here is that the screenshot hints at ‘bank to bank transfer with UPI’. UPI is a direct reference to the Unified Payments Interface rolled out by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).This new development comes months after the company posted that it is looking for a payments expert in the job listing.
