Developers of WhatsApp, the most popular mobile messaging App have continuously been hard at work with incremental updates to the app. Initially, the developers used to push the latest updates on the WhatsApp web page, but after opening the beta channel on Google Play store, they have been constantly pushing updates there. The frequency of updates has been impressive with 3-4 updates every week with changes ranging from invisible under the hood changes to subtle changes only noticeable to users that are look for the changes. The latest update at the time of writing on WhatsApp Beta channel in Google Play Store, version 2.16.118 brings in the capability of Quoting and replying to quotes inside the conversations. Users can quote other participants in the group chats, other users in individual chats and can quote themselves as well. The quotes are not limited to text only messages and everything from images to videos can be quoted upon long pressing the message. The chat jumps to the place in conversation from where the quote was taken on tapping a quote, highlighting that particular message as reported by Android Police. The quotes can be seen and not made in the earlier versions, from 2.16.117 till 2.16.115 but it's not clear if the changes are server-side changes or app version centric changes. This comes close after the iOS beta for the app was going to include GIF support and one of the beta version accidently displayed the ability to do video calls. The in-app language toggle of switching the language of WhatsApp without changing the language of entire phone user interface was introduced in version 2.16.116.
