Vu technologies Debuts New Age Boombox

VU technology's 'Gadget bar' (Mumbai) has a new, retro gadget this Christmas, the Vu Boombox. The Boombox is a portable 'digital media player' device, that plays music from MP3 players such as iPods as well as from USB Flash Memory devices.Vu Boombox, designed and developed in Vu’s California-based New Product Development lab, is based on 'On The Go technology' and is equipped with 3.5 mm Audio Jack/ AUX IN. The device features a user-friendly interface, FM Radio Receiver, 2800 Watts PMPO, Class-T Amp with Super Bass, and 3" x 2 Full range Speaker Driver Units. The Boombox is also operable with six D batteries. It comes with a Price tag of Rs 10,000 (+ 4%VAT + 5.5% Octroi) and is available exclusively at the Vu store.

Devita Saraf, CEO, Vu Technologies said, "The eighties are now back in fashion. Everything from big hairstyles to the bling is brought back in style today, so we thought; why not combine nostalgia with a practical device, for today's generation? The Boombox is ideal for terrace or beach parties and will be a big hit with the younger generation."

Since Vu is relatively new in the Indian market, it anticipated that the products will take time to catch on. But as Saraf put it, "We did not expect such a good response, but surprisingly, the most expensive product, the 47 inch LCD monitors, were sold out within months. People, are getting bored of all the big brands because, today, everybody has them. They are not exclusive anymore. This is why Vu offers consumers some very unique gadgets and gizmos for that element of exclusivity. Moreover, our store has trained staff, that is equipped to handle servicing and queries of customers."

Vu also offers complete 'home solutions' for customers, to install products and help customers to integrate them with other gadgets in homes.

Vu Technologies, set up in August this year, is owned by the promoters of Mumbai-based Zenith Computers. The first retail outlet of Vu is at CR2 (INOX), Nariman Point, Mumbai and the company plans to open 30 stores across the country in metro and mini-metro cities within the next two years.
