Twitter teams up with Foursquare for location tagging features

Micro-blogging site Twitter has teamed up with local search and discovery service mobile app Foursquare to allow users to tag locations in their tweets. Twitter announced this news via a tweet and explained via a video how location tagging will work in iOS.

Micro-blogging site Twitter has teamed up with local search and discovery service mobile app Foursquare to allow users to tag locations in their tweets. Twitter announced this news via a tweet and explained via a video how location tagging will work in iOS. 
The company also tagged in its support site explained how exactly to add location to a tweet. It also gives detailed information on how to stop including location in tweets along with how to add location to tweets in its mobile website and on the web too.[caption id="attachment_260364" align="aligncenter" width="640"]Image: Twitter Image: Twitter[/caption]A report by Engadget stated that this update will make Twitter more lucrative to brands that thrive on location-based user behavior. It also added that, users who turn their location on, all future tweets will automatically carry their co-ordinates. If users do not wish to share their location at all time, they will have to remember to go back and opt-out.Tweets with location tags could also help boost ads on the micro-blogging site and help new users better manage their timelines with relevant tweets.
