Microblogging site Twitter is down in certain regions of the world. Thankfully, the outage doesn’t seem to have affected India. The affected countries include the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, Japan, France and the US.The Independent reports that problems began around 11.00 am and that service was restored several hours later.
As is common with Twitter outages, users in affected countries were greeted with an error message on the app and on the website stating, “something is technically wrong.”TechCrunch reports that the service appears to be back in Europe, and that New York, Washington, UK and Japan are facing intermittent outages.Downdetector.com is maintaining a real-time map of Twitter outages around the world and currently, Japan seems to be the country most severely affected by the outage. The detector suggests that there are still connectivity issues in various other countries as well, including many in Asia. India doesn’t seem to be affected.Twitter has only acknowledged that there is a problem and says that it is “working on a fix”. There is still no word on the cause of the outages, nor is there any estimate on when the issues will be fixed.
