Twitter has given the web-based version of TweetDeck a massive makeover in an update. After killing off the Android, iOS and AIR versions of the app last month, this is the first update that Twitter has released to woo agitated TweetDeck users.
Twitter had ceased support to other versions of the app in order to concentrate on the browser-based TweetDeck, much to the disappointment of fans of the third-party micro-blogging app. The update that has just been released incorporates “new and often requested features”, including a whole new look to the application.
All your icons are to the left
In a major redesign move, the entire top bar of the app has been shifted to the left side of the page. The New Tweet button, search and columns are now all placed in a vertical column, lending it a slightly haphazard look. It might take a while for TweetDeck regulars to get used to the new column placement.
You will now be able to create new columns by clicking on the Add Column button placed on the left sidebar. To change the placement of your columns, now you will simply need to drag the icons on the left toolbar, adjusting it to give you the perfect layout. If you don’t know what the icons stand for – don’t worry. Hovering your mouse over them will let you know what the column does. You can also click on the Expand icon, which will pull the left sidebar out for better clarity.
