Tinder has teamed up with Spotify to introduce new ways for users to connect over the kind of music they consume. There is now a button that allows linking a Spotify account to a Tinder profile. Browsing through Tinder profiles, now shows you the musical preferences of the individual. Users can specify which favorite artists to feature on their profiles. All users, whether or not they have linked their Spotify profiles to Tinder, can preview the tracks from Tinder itself.Users now have the option of setting an anthem. The anthem is the background track for your life, or a piece of music that defines who you are as a person. The anthems can be changed. All Tinder users can add an anthem to their profiles using Spotify, whether or not they have a linked Spotify account. Users can search through the Spotify database, and select a track to be used as an anthem on their Tinder profiles.
The option to link to a Spotify profile is available in the account settings menu. The integration allows users to swipe based on the preferences in music of the profiles they come across, and incorporates music choice as a part of the Tinder experience. The feature is in the process of rolling out to all 59 markets where Spotify is available.
