Sony's Rs 39,990 price tag for PS4 could give Xbox One the edge in India

Sony's decision to price its flagship device at Rs 39,990 has come as quite a shocker, given that it costs $399 in the US (this works out to about Rs 25,000).The price is for the console and one controller, while additional DualShock 4 controllers will cost you Rs 4,999. The PlayStation Eye motion controller will also have to be bought separately.

Indian gamers who were waiting for the Sony device to release officially in the country will be quite disappointed with the price.

Although the Microsoft XBox One is priced around $100 more than the PS4 in the US, if the company plays its cards right, it can give Sony a real run for its money in India.It is already competing fiercely with the Japanese company to gain dominance over the gaming market.
