Smartron is expected to announce an exclusive Sachin Tendulkar branded smartphone in India this Wednesday. The handset will be unveiled by the former cricket star himself and will be called srt.phone.The handset will be the second smartphone coming from Smartron, and will be the first such signatured handset. Sachin has been the brand ambassador of the Hyderabad based technology company since the beginning and is expected to be present at the launch event.https://twitter.com/smartronindia/status/857950782901166082Recently Smartron appointed Amit Boni as the new Vice President for sales and marketing saying that he will be responsible for overall brand building and heading the sales and marketing functions. Boni worked with Motorola for several years as country head before he was replaced by Sudhin Mathur who used to take care of operations at Lenovo India.Smartron is still fairly a new brand as it has only announced two products, the Smartron t.phone and the Smartron t.book 2-in-1 laptop. The t.book was a hybrid laptop with a removable keyboard (just like the Microsoft Surface series) with promising hardware and is still a pretty decent machine priced at Rs 39,999. The t.phone was launched later at Rs 22,999 which sadly didn't grab much attention even though it was a sturdy handset.
