Samsung Galaxy S10's Infinity-O display reportedly goes into production

The Samsung Galaxy S10 is expected to come with a bunch of upgrades, and one of them is believed to be its display. The Galaxy S10 is rumoured to feature an improved version of the Infinity display, called the Infinity-O. And now, adding a little more authenticity to this rumour, a report from Korea suggests that these new displays for the S10 have now gone into production.[caption id="attachment_4760401" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Samsung S9 Plus. Tech2.[/caption]According to a report by ETNews Samsung is already producing the Infinity-O displays in preparation of the Galaxy S10 launch next year. Samsung Display apparently finished adapting its production lines for the new Infinity-O display designs, the report notes, adding the laser equipment necessary to drill holes into OLED displays.But what's so special about the Infinity-O display? Well, that 'O' in the moniker is your hint.When Apple launched the iPhone X in 2017, it introduced the notch, and then we saw almost every brand following that design language, except for Samsung. The South Korean company found a different way to further increase the display real estate on its phones, and that's where Infinity-O steps in. The Galaxy S10's display is expected to come with even thinner top and bottom bezels, curved edges, and a hole near the top (read: O) of the screen where the selfie camera will be placed.Besides the Samsung Galaxy S10, the Galaxy A8s, which is believed to be launched in December, is also rumoured to feature the new Infinity-O display. However, a leakster from China recently claimed that the Galaxy A8s' display will be an LCD one and will be manufactured by BOE Display and not Samsung Display.
