Ricoh has announced the Ricoh Caplio R40 compact camera, featuring a 5.7x optical wide zoom in a slim body only 26mm deep. Available in black, the new Ricoh Caplio R40 is a more affordable version of the highly successful R4, which featured a 7.1x optical wide zoom lens.In addition to its wide zoom lens, the new Ricoh Caplio R40 caters for every photographic situation. These vary from sweeping landscapes to indoor shots needing a wide-angle lens, to close-ups using telephoto. The Ricoh R40 features a top-of-its-class macro mode, enabling users to photograph an object from as close as 1cm.Release time lag is as low as approximately 0.09 seconds.
