RED announces the Hydrogen One smartphone with a holographic display, priced at $1,195

High-end camera manufacturer RED has provided incredibly sophisticated cameras that have been extensively used in the film industry and it seems now they have their eyes set on the smartphone market as well.The company announced that they will be releasing the smartphone Hydrogen One and have started pre-orders for  it. What is interesting is that the phone is tipped to have "holographic" 3D display for VR and AR.The company claims that the 5.7 inch smartphone will be using nanotechnology to switch between 2D and interactive 3D content without the use of any 3D glasses. A glass-less 3D display has been earlier used in the Nintendo 3DS which incorporates face-tracking to give viewers a constant 3D experience.The company has also claimed that they will be focusing on an immersive sound experience by using an algorithm to convert stereo sound into “multi-dimensional audio” and will also feature multiple attachments or "mods" like the Moto Z. It will also be featuring RED Channel for viewing 4-view holographic content. The phone will be using a type-c connector with an expandable storage via an micro SD card and will feature a 3.5 mm headphone jack.The phone will start their shipping in early 2018 and have put a hefty pricetag of $1,195 for the Aluminium model and $1,595 for the Titanium model. The company has indicated that they will not be able to fill all orders on time due to display production limitations. The modular attachments will not be available at the time of the launch  either.
