Razer announces Intel Haswell-powered Blade and Blade Pro gaming laptops

Razer has announced two new additions to its gaming laptop category, the Razer Blade Pro and the Razer Blade. The Blade Pro is the latest installment in its 17-inch gaming laptop section. Powered by a 4th generation Intel Core processor, the Blade Pro also sports a next gen NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M graphics card.

The vital statistics of the 17-inch laptop stands at 0.88 inches thin with a weight of 6.5 pounds. The Blade Pro features a 47-watt Intel chip, which gives 10 watts more than the previous offers. The audio needs in this laptop are taken care of by a Dolby Home Theatre v4, along with other peripherals such as Razer Synapse 2.0, which is a programmable anti-ghosting keyboard with an adjustable backlight and a sensitive track pad.

The Blade Pro also comes in with a full-HD 17-inch LED display that is linked in combination with the Switchblade User Interface (SBUI). The laptop’s SBUI also comes in with new apps and a wide array of tools for free, including programs like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro, Maya and GIMP.  The Razer Blade Pro also features 8GB of fast 1600MHz DDR3L memory as well as 128GB of total solid-stage storage, with optional 256GB and 512GB SSD upgrades being available.

The other offering is the Razer Blade, which measures in at just 0.66-inches thin. Coming to users with a 4th generation Intel Core processor as well as an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M GPU. The Blade, like its bigger brother, also utilises solid-state storage technology. The laptop is seen with a rigid all-aluminum chassis and will also feature a custom-designed trackpad and backlit gaming grade keyboard.

The Razer Blade comes to users with a 14-inch LED-backlit HD+ display with a native resolution of 1600 x 900. The laptop will additionally feature 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3L memory and comes standard with 128GB of total solid-state storage with optional upgrades for a 256GB or 512GB SSD being made available. The audio needs, like the 17-inch Blade Pro, are taken care of by a Dolby Home Theatre v4 system.

The Razer Blade delivers up to six hours of battery life and includes a Killer Wireless-N high-performance networking adapter. The Blade Pro is priced at $2,299 (Rs 1,29,939 approx) and will be available for pre-order in the US and Canada from June 3. The Razer Blade will also be available for pre-order on the same date and in the same countries and will sport a price tag starting at $1,799 (Rs 1,01,679 approx).
