PES 14 will not feature on the next generation consoles

Konami, the developer of the widely played football game Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), has confirmed that the game will not feature on the recently launched next generation consoles. The game, whose latest edition is due for launch later this year, will be launched on all the platforms except for Microsoft's Xbox One or Sony's PlayStation 4.

The latest edition will see fans holding up mosaic before the start of play

Adam Bhatti, a developer working on the game, confirmed on Twitter that PES 2014 will be launched only on the current-generation consoles like the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, and not on the newly launched next-generation consoles. "The fact we're not on PS4/Xbone with PES 2014 is simple," Bhatti said on Twitter. “In the past, people accused us of being lazy. We're adamant of not making the same mistakes, and making sure we create amazing football games. It's hardly amazing making the next-gen version prettier. We shouldn't have that mentality, and you shouldn't expect that. Aim higher." He explained.

Just like its competitor, the FIFA franchise by EA Sports, PES also receives an update every year. While EA's version enjoys the liberty of having the license for team and the players, PES has been riding on the superior gameplay and improved graphics for the past few years.

Unlike Konami, EA has confirmed that FIFA 14, when launched in September, will be featuring on the next-generation console.
