On video: Here's the Gionee Elife E7 in action

Gionee ended the year with a bang in India, launching the super-exciting Elife E7 with a sumptuous price tag. We have already given you a brief run-around of the phone in our first impressions piece, but there’s more in store. Here’s our video hands-on:  The build quality is quite nice for a phone that’s under Rs 30,000 and it’s a little like the Nexus 5 mashed up with a Nokia Lumia. There’s gloss around the back, but it’s not too flashy either. The UI of the phone is very much like MIUI. We are impressed by what Gionee has done with the camera software and the plethora of settings available will make finicky photographers feel right at home.Overall, the E7 looks like a great package. We’ll have to see how the final software performs and the battery life of the phone, before we can make a more thorough call on the phone.
