Nokia prices Ozo virtual reality camera at $60,000

Finland's Nokia on Tuesday said it will price its virtual reality camera at $60,000 and begin its shipments in the first quarter of next year.Launched initially in July, the spherical camera features eight sensors and microphones and it is designed for making 3D movies and games that can be watched and played with virtual reality headsets.Once the world's largest mobile phone maker, Nokia is now focused on making telecom network equipment. It is also planning to come back to the phone business by designing and licensing handsets next year.Reports earlier this year pointed at the comeback of Nokia with a virtual reality product and soon the company announced Ozo, its new camera for filming virtual reality at an event in Los Angeles. The final pricing and full technical specifications were said to be revealed when it starts shipping in Q4 2015.The Ozo is capable of capturing audio and video in 360 degrees. It is set to become the first commercially available VR camera for professional content creators, the company had said.With inputs from Reuters
