Plan to own the Nokia Lumia 720 smartphone? It is now available at retail stores across the country for Rs 18,999.
Yesterday, the smartphone went up on sale on Nokia's official e-store for the same price. The smartphone, which will take up the spot directly under the Lumia 820 in Nokia’s portfolio, has been on pre-order for the past week and now buyers can get the device within seven working days of booking it.
Nokia had unveiled the Lumia 720 smartphone alongside the low-end Lumia 520 at this year's Mobile World Congress.
There is plenty of processing power under the Lumia 720’s hood. The CPU is made of dual Krait cores manufactured by Qualcomm. The Snapdragon SoC also has an Adreno 305 GPU along with 512MB of RAM. This combination sounds good enough for a mid-range phone, but the amount of RAM has us worried that some apps may not be compatible with this particular smartphone.

Even though the Lumia 720 doesn’t carry the PureView tag, Nokia is going to target shutterbugs with the smartphone. Nokia, with its smartphone, claims to makes it easy to capture and share pictures with the camera and through camera lenses including Cinemagraph, Smart Shoot and Glam Me.
The design of the Lumia 720 reminds us very much of the Nokia Lumia 920, but the display leaves a lot to be desired.
- 4.3-inch ClearBlack LCD display with a resolution of 800x480 pixels
- 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi
- GPS with GLONASS
- NFC, Bluetooth 3.0
- 6.7 megapixel camera with BSI sensor and 720p video recording, 1.3 megapixel HD wide angle camera on the front
- 8GB internal memory expandable up to 64GB via microSD
The Lumia 720 is available in five colour options – cyan, black, red, white and yellow. It comes with a replaceable wireless charging back panel also as an option. The phone has a 2000 mAh battery, which the company says should last 520 hours on standby and 13 hours for 3G talk time.
The Lumia 720 smartphone includes Nokia Music, the HERE location suite and the option to add wireless charging with a snap-on wireless charging cover. The HERE suite of applications include HERE Maps, HERE Drive for free turn by turn navigation and HERE Transit. Nokia Music offers unlimited music streaming for three months, free of adverts or subscription charges and includes the ability to download playlists to listen offline.
