Nokia announces Dark Knight Rises edition Lumia 800 with Lumia 610 in India

With The Dark Knight Rises movie just around the corner, Nokia has given die-hard Batman fans in India something more to look forward to. The Finnish mobile phone manufacturer has just announced the limited edition Dark Knight Rises Lumia 800 for India at Rs. 24,999. The special edition was announced last year in December, and although Nokia is currently teasing the Lumia 900 special edition of the same movie, we'll have to wait awhile longer for that. The Lumia 900 is expected in Q3 and don't get your hopes up about it shipping with Windows 8. As of now Nokia seems to have deemed the Lumia 900 fit to receive Windows Phone 7.8, so naturally the hope of seeing it updated to version 8 goes right out the window.

The pricing of this handset is great as those looking to purchase a Lumia 800 would not need to shell out more for the special edition. However the standard price of the Lumia 800 also available on Nokia's online store is the same. Only 200 units of this handset are available and can only be purchased online.

The Nokia Lumia 800 was first launched in India last year and heralded Nokia’s big reentry in the smartphone market that is currently dominated by the likes of iOS and Android. Nokia differentiated them from the competition by mainly focussing their Lumia range of handsets by powering it with the Windows Phone OS. Alongside the launch of the Nokia Lumia 800, Nokia has also taken the wraps off the Lumia 610 in India. With this handset, Nokia aims to target a market that is budget conscious and has priced the handset competitively in India at Rs. 12,999.
