Next-Gen iPad Might Have AMOLED Display from Samsung

Back in February we heard that Apple was most likely teaming up with now “arc-rival” Samsung to develop new-generation displays for the next-gen iPads. There’s been no word officially from either party about the that and since then things have been heating up to quite an extent between these two big players. The latest development, according to PCMag.com, is that a Korean newspaper has claimed that the two companies are back on track to bring AMOLED displays to the next iPad.

Burrying the hatchet?

The Korea Herald, who are making the claims also spoke of top level execs discussing the integration of Samsung’s AMOLED display technology into Apple’s next tablet device which, in all likelihood will be out next year on cue. If these two mammoths in the mobile device industry have indeed buried the hatchet, it could be a big step up in Apple’s new line of devices from next-gen iPhones to the iPads and possibly Macbooks too. It’s quite a bit of speculation so far, since once again the companies have made no official announcement of any kind. With big lawsuits filed between the two companies still looming and the recent verdict that allows Apple to legally view Samsung’s next-gent device designs, it seems rather unlikely that this ‘merger’ could come to pass. But there are those times I guess when business is just business and these two getting together just could mean good business. It’ll be just a matter of time though that we’ll start hearing more rumors on this tie up before the iPad 3 is officially unveiled so stay tuned to this space to know more as it happens.
