New Honor 7X OTA update brings facial recognition, AR lenses and more

The Honor 7X was launched in India back in December and it offers a good set of specifications at a reasonable price. Now reports are coming in that an OTA update is rolling out for the Honor 7X which brings in a facial recognition upgrade, AR camera tools and more. Image: tech2/Rehan Hooda[/caption]XDA-Developers say this update is being rolled out under the build number B192 and comes just weeks after the official Oreo-based custom EMUI ROM was released for Honor 7X. The facial recognition feature and smart lock screen notifications can be activated in Settings > Security > Privacy > Face Unlock.AR lenses have also been added as part of this update to the phone's camera app which function kind of like the Snapchat filters. Along with this, the accuracy of several city names in the Weather app has been optimised and the January security patch has been added.The Honor 7X comes with a 5.93-inch full HD+ LCD display sporting a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Inside, we get a Huawei-made HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC clocked at 2.36 GHz with an octa-core processor. With what appears to be a capable SoC, Honor has paired 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage variants, all of which comes with expandable memory (up to 256 GB).
