Microsoft reveals foldable Tablet design; could be a Surface Phone

Microsoft could be working on a Windows 10 powered mobile device after leaks point out that the company has filed several patents for what is rumoured to be the 'Surface Mobile'.Patents have shown that Microsoft is developing a special hinge mechanism which could be implemented on a phablet or tablet sized device. As reported by Gizmochina, the patent filings and the images indicate that even though it is a foldable tablet, its size is said to similar to a smartphone rather than a tablet. The images also shed light on the hinges, clearly showing that the device can be flipped an entire 360 degrees.[caption id="attachment_382159" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Credits: Gizmochina[/caption]The foldable screen seems to be split into two parts and to display two separate user interfaces when not in 180 degrees mode. While a single interface mode will be displayed in 180 degrees similar to a tablet.According to what Microsoftpoweruser, the inventor listed on the patents is Kabir Siddiqui, who had earlier patented the Surface 'kickstand' which was first spotted on the Surface RT. The Surface lineup was also the first to introduce this technology. Earlier in another leak reported by Gizmochina, a video accidentally uploaded on video sharing website, Bilibili via the official Microsoft account had revealed details about an upcoming phone, named 'Microsoft Surface Mobile'.
