Microsoft introduces new Outlook integration with Uber, Evernote and more

Microsoft is rolling out new third-party app integration for Outlook, including Evernote, Yelp, IFTTT and Wunderlist. In addition, Uber, PayPal and Boomerang add-ins have already been rolled out.

Microsoft is rolling out new third-party app integration for Outlook, including Evernote, Yelp, IFTTT and Wunderlist. In addition, Uber, PayPal and Boomerang add-ins have already been rolled out. According to the Microsoft Blog, partner add-ins help you get more done right from your inbox—from finding cool restaurants for a dinner with friends to setting up a ride to get there and paying your portion of the tab.

With Uber, you can setup an Uber ride reminder for any calendar event Prior to the time of your ride, you get an Uber reminder on your phone with the destination set. Uber add-in is available in Outlook 2013 and Outlook on the web for users with Office 365 and Exchange 2013 mailboxes. It’s coming to users of the new Outlook.com within the next month.

With Evernote, you can also clip emails from Outlook to Evernote, save them into a designated notebook, and add tags for an extra level of organisation. Sharing work related information with colleagues becomes much easier with this new add-in. The Evernote add-in is available in Outlook 2013 and Outlook on the web for users with Office 365 mailboxes. It also works with Exchange 2013 mailboxes but requires your Exchange IT admin to install the add-in. It’s coming to users of the new Outlook.com within the next month.

With the Boomerang integration, users can schedule emails to send at a specified time and get a notification if an email doesn't get responded to. The Boomerang add-in is available in Outlook 2013 and Outlook on the web for users with Office 365 mailboxes. It’s coming to users of the new Outlook.com within the next month too.

IFTTT is available for Office 365 users and will soon arrive for the new Outlook.com. Wunderlist and Yelp will as well, arrive soon on Outlook and Office 365.
