Microsoft Build 2015: What to expect at the developers' conference

Microsoft had ticked all the right boxes at its Windows 10 event that took place earlier this year. At the Build conference, focused at app developers, the company is expected to offer a wider glimpse at which direction the company is heading. The Build kicks off today at 8:30AM PT that is 9PM IST. Here's a quick look at what to expect Microsoft's conference.Windows 10Microsoft Windows 10 previews have been available to the public. However, TheVerge points out that there are still some parts that aren't seen by everyone and so we can expect some more revelations at the event. The Chief of Windows, Terry Myerson, is expected to talk about the progress of Windows 10, so far. We can expect updates involving Project Spartan and Cortana.Windows Phone and appsThe Windows Phone preview is at an early stage, but this may not stop the company from detailing some hardware of its upcoming devices. However, talking about hardware won't make sense until Windows Phone is completely ready. In the past, we've seen the company talk about Windows Phone 10 hardware requirements, and could possibly elaborate further at the Build.Going by the chatter online, the company's focus is said to make it simpler for developers to bring their Android and iOS codes to Windows universal apps. After all, the company has been struggling to expand its app store. So, expect some improved tools and mapping functions for developers. Microsoft is also planning to announce apps and add-ins for the new Outlook.com. The company may possibly demo a native Windows app and also universal apps to show how the HoloLens actually works. Besides, Microsoft may also allow developers some hands-on time with the device. The company has patented mood-sensing tech for HoloLens, and we can expect some details on it at the conference too.TabletsThe company is also expected to showcase its successor to the Surface 2 RT. However, it won’t be a Windows RT based device. It is expected to be fanless with either Intel Atom or Intel Core M based processor and will run a full-version of Windows. If previous reports are to be believed, then it will come pre-installed with Windows 8.1 and will later be upgradable to Windows 10.Besides, one can also expect a broader release of the Xbox Live SDK, which is now available only to select partners.
