Micromax A85 press shots leak, we like what we see

After the blurry spy shot of Micromax’s Superphone or the A85, we now have the official press shots of the phone that have found their way to the internet. Knowyourmobile have managed to get the inside scoop on this highly anticipated droid, since it will be the first dual-core phone to be priced under 20K. The phone is said to arrive sometime next month, in time for the holiday season.

All the ingredients for a great droid

The phone will be powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 2 processor running at 1GHz and will come with Nvidia’s Tegra Zone pre-installed. The 3.8-inch capacitive screen will sport a resolution of 480 x 800 and will have a 5MP auto-focus shooter. Sadly, there is no LED flash to help you with the picture, so don’t expect too much from indoor shots. The front-facing camera will be VGA and from the picture, we can see two sensors, which would be the ambient light sensor and proximity sensor. The phone looks really neat, at least from the press shots, and there isn’t any garish Micromax branding on the front.

Lack of flash is a bit of a let down

If it launches at 20K, it will go up against big wigs like the Samsung Galaxy S, Nexus S, LG Optimus Black and the new arrival, Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray. If the build and finish of the phone is upto the mark, then the A85 will make a killing in this segment.
