LG V30 leak reveals a G6-like flagship that skips on the second display

The LG V30 has been doing the rounds of rumour mills for quite some time. After several leaks of the device and then regarding the launch date, the last rumour pointed out that the flagship smartphone would be announced on 31 August with device going on sale on 15 September in its home market, South Korea.[caption id="attachment_3884007" align="alignleft" width="380"]

The LG V20[/caption]Now a new leak has revealed an outline of the upcoming smartphone, one that also hints that the dual display setup that first showed up on the LG V10 (and then on the V20 and the X screen) is no more.The outline reportedly comes from an LG V30 user manual and was leaked by Twitter user @OnLeaks.The image reveals a device that looks very similar to the LG G6 from the front and the back, but shows off a rounded appearance when viewed from the sides. It appears to be a more refined version of the LG G6 design which showcased more defined corners with sharper edges.

The display again appears to be a 18:9 unit which takes up the entire front face of the device, with very little bezel available on all sides. Indeed, the lack of a second display as with the V20 could hint that LG is done with the idea as even the LG G6 did not sport the same, but added a taller 18:9 display instead.At the rear there is a dual camera set up accompanied by what appears to be a single LED flash unit with laser focus assist. Below the camera sits the fingerprint reader.As per previous leaks, the LG V30 is expected to be launched in 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage variants. The device should feature a 5.7-inch OLED display with a bezel-less design. Inside, expect a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset tied down to a 3,200 mAh battery. The device is expected to go on sale in South Korea at a price tag of 800,000 KRW (around Rs 45,465).More details should emerge once the launch date gets confirmed.
