The LG Cookies are about to get some competition, but of you’re thinking from another company, think again. LG has announced a new range of touchscreen devices called ‘Wink’. The LG T300 Wink, T310 Wink Style and T320 Wink 3G are, like the Cookies, mid-range handsets directed at the youth segment.

The LG T300 Wink features -

  • a 2.4-inch touchscreen with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution
  • EDGE/GPRS
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, USB 2.0
  • 2MP camera
  • FM radio, recording
  • 3.5mm handsfree socket
  • MicroSD card support

Other than the design and slightly larger display, the second handset is identical, feature-wise to the T300. It features -

  • a 2.8-inch touchscreen
  • EDGE/GPRS
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, USB 2.0
  • 2MP camera
  • FM radio, recording
  • 3.5mm handsfree socket
  • MicroSD card support

The higher end device in this new range is the T320 Wink 3G and pretty much covers all the same features. Of course it’s a 3G enabled handset but there’s no mention of the speed capability. This device might also be equipped with a 2MP camera.

According to the report, LG hasn’t really gotten into the details of these new devices just yet, so prices are yet unknown. The devices should be available in Europe and the Middle East later this month and will then proceed to Latin America, CIS and a few Asian countries, including China, in the third quarter. There’s no mention of India, but considering the Cookie’s popularity, it’s quite possible they could make an appearance here too.
