After a hoax video was released claiming to show Google's high-resolution Chromebook Pixel, some more information has come out indicating that the Chromebook could well be on its way.
According to The Verge, developer Franois Beaufort has revealed some documents about a multi-coloured "lightbar scheme," in Google colours which should appear during Startup or Shutdown.
The changes were made to the Chromium OS Github page, which is the open source version of Google's Chrome browser. You can view the document at this link.
The document reads:
At Startup or wake from sleep, Google colors cycle in.
While running, > 25% power level in the battery:
All blue, in a breathing effect (cycle up and down 30%).
While running, <= 25% power level in battery: Same as above, but with red Shutting down, or going into sleep: Cycle out the Google colors (Note: the effect is only visible for S0->S3, because shutting down kills power to the lightbar before we can react).

This document has added to the buzz around the rumours that Google might soon be launching its own ChromeBook with a high-screen resolution.
More from News AnalysisA video, which claimed to show the new ChromeBook Pixel also went viral recently. The video was apparently leaked by Slinky.me, but the CEO of Slinky.me, Victor Koch later posted on his Google Plus page that the site was hacked and apologised for the leaked video. Interestingly he tagged both Franois Beaufort and Google co-founder Sergey Brin in the post.
According to reports, Google's new Chrome OS will 2560 x 1700 display. Recently HP too launched a Chromebook, (this runs Google's Chrome OS) joining other manufacturers like Samsung, Lenovo and Acer.
For Google fans, the question is whether Google will launch its own device at its I/O conference in May? For that we'll have to wait and watch.
