Jolla has been creating quite a buzz about the launch of its new phone. While earlier news has stated that the phone will launch in the second half of the year, some news regarding the pricing and specifications have come to light about the first Sailfish OS handset.

Jolla seems to have positioned its new phone with the tagline "The Other Half". While it seems the new phone is going to simply be called “Jolla”, we will have to wait till official confirmation. From what can be seen on the company’s Facebook page, the phone will come with a number of covers made of plastic, which will be offered in a range of shades including orange, red, green and many others.Jolla's handset is creating a lot of buzz. What is interesting about this phone is that the unit recognises which case you are attaching and changes the visual theme of the operating system to match.

The phone has a 4.5-inch display, a dual-core processor and 16GB of internal memory. Users will also have the option for microSD card expansion, if needed. The resolution of the phone display is still not known though. The phone will also have a 4G LTE modem, as well as a removable back cover. The phone will also sport an 8MP rear camera.

The most interesting thing about the phone is that the Sailfish operating system is said to be Android app compliant. However, it is still not clear how developers and users of the phone plan to put that feature into effect. If the company does manage to make the phone Android app compliant, it will give it a distinct advantage over other OSes like Windows Phone and BB 10, which are still struggling to match up to the number of apps that the Google Play Store and the Apple App store have. With the exact date of release for the Jolla phone still not set, the price for now has been given at 399 Euros (Rs 28,329).
