iPhone 5c gets a price cut of Rs 5,000; now available online for Rs 36,899 (Update)

Update: Looks like the below mentioned prices were the lowest prices listed by Amazon.in for February 10. As seen today, the prices have changed and the lowest price now listed is Rs 37,289.

Here’s some good news for Apple fans who were hoping to get their hands on the “cheaper” iPhone 5c. The 16GB iPhone 5c that was launched for Rs 41,900, is now selling for Rs 36,899 on online retailer Amazon.in. The price of the device has been slashed by Rs 4,900, probably owing to the poor sales of the device.

The iPhone 5c will reportedly be available at the same price across the nation. Currently, the online site shows the yellow and blue 16Gb iPhone models priced at Rs 36,999 and Rs 36,899 respectively. On the other hand, the green, white and pink models sport a slightly higher price of Rs 39,500 each.

India has traditionally not been a focus for Apple, but lately the company has been marketing its products heavily, owing to poor sales and fierce competition from arch rival Samsung. Even with the latest iPhones, the company is trying to bring in EMI schemes, buyback and exchange offers, along with carrier tie-ups to boost sales.
