Introducing Magnum, a Pocket Sized Tablet

Lakshmi Access Communications Systems (LACS), a Bangalore based company, has announced a 'pocket-sized' tablet aptly named, 'Magnum'. Magnum will have multitasking abilities and have an in-built memory of 2 GB expandable up to 16 GB. It will be able to connect to select USB-supported TVs or a projector. It will come host of utility applications such as Calculator, Calendar, Alarm, Stop Watch, Torch Light and Files Back-Up. It will come with a USB-port for computer connectivity and Micro SD reader.

Here are two confuddling features though. LACS says Magnum will have "a 10.9 or 12.7cms Indianised resistive touch screen". So, what size WILL it be? Clearly smaller is better if they're going to sell it as a pocket-tablet? Also, what's an 'Indianised resistive touch screen'? LACS also claims that this is the 'first device of its kind to have multitasking abilities'. Umm, hello world without Samsung Galaxy Tab and Dell Streak!

The Magnum is launched and is available in two sizes, 10.9 cm (Rs. 13,999) and 12.7 cm (Rs. 15,999). These are available in 5 different colours. They can be bought from the LACS website.
