This one’s sure to excite photo-sharers of the social world. Instagram has got a neat new update for both Android and iOS that brings about improvements for not just the photo editing side of the application but also the video sharing one.

The straightening feature, of course, only goes on to emphasise Instagram’s efforts of being more than just a social network to share images. It wants users to actively employ Instagram to enhance images that have already been clicked.
As far as the mysterious “sound and data usage control” aspect of the updates goes, it looks like you can now make Instagram mute video sound or make the sound harmonise with the ringer. You can also leave sound always on.
The Next Web has also noted that Instagram has slyly removed the option to switch-off auto-play for videos. Users who had earlier chosen to disallow the video to pre-load in their feed will be given two options – always allow videos to pre-load or restrict it when they’re on Wi-Fi.
New features for Android and iOS
While it is a nice gesture on Instagram’s part to provide for a Wi-Fi load only option to make videos pre-load, a lot of feathers will be ruffled thanks to the fact that you will be unable to choose not to load a video. While it may look like an annoying new feature to you, something out of parent company Facebook’s manual, the pre-loaded videos feature will actually be used to set the foundation for Instagram’s video ads that are supposed to be coming soon.
