Information on Nvidia Tegra 4 leaked

Many of today's higher end mobile devices use Nvidia's Tegra 3 processor. According to Chip Hell, details about a newer version of the processor have been leaked, and it looks all set to compete with the likes of Qualcomm's Snapdragon and Samsung's Exynos processors.

The Tegra 4, which has been codenamed Wayne, will be using a power-efficient 28nm process much like the Snapdragon. It is also set to have a 72-core graphics setup, which would give it a considerably large performance boost as compared to its predecessor, the Tegra 3. According to claims, this is set to give six times the visual performance compared to the Tegra 3. The cores are also said to be able to handle videos of up to 2560 x 1440 at 120Hz output of 1080p.

On the flip side, the CPU seems to have the same number of cores as the Tegra 3 with a 4-plus-1 core setup. It will be moving to ARM's newest design—the Cortex-A15. It can be speculated that the Tegra 4 will make its first real appearance early next year.

Details about the Tegra 4

One of the most notable devices powered by Nvidia's chip is the Nexus 7 tablet. A revised edition of the tablet was announced back in October. The most important feature of the revised model of the Asus-manufactured Nexus 7 is its HSPA+ connectivity. The new Nexus 7 will be available in 16GB and 32GB capacities. The 16GB version will cost $199, which converts to roughly Rs 10,761. The 32GB version will cost $249, approximately Rs 13,465. The HSPA+ enabled Nexus 7 will be able to operate on more than 200 GSM providers around the world.

Alongside the new Nexus 7, Google had also unveiled the Nexus 10. The 10-inch tablet has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels with a density of 300 ppi. Google states that the battery life of the tablet stands at 500 hours of standby time, and nine hours of video playback. The inclusion of Android v4.2 allows you to add multiple users, making it the first Android tablet that is truly shareable.

Google had also announced the newest phone in the Nexus line-up, the Nexus 4. It has a quad-core processor and a crisp 4.7-inch (320 ppi) display. With wireless charging, you just set the phone down on a charging surface to power it up—no wires needed. This device too runs on Android v4.2. Starting with the camera, the company has reinvented the photo experience with Photo Sphere, which lets you capture shots up, down and in every direction to create 360-degree experiences that you can share on Google+.
