HTC could reignite Windows Phone efforts, suggests Microsoft VP Nick Parker

It has been long since we saw a HTC-Windows collaborative smartphone. At one point it was assumed that the deal between them was called off, since there has been no announcement on the front for nearly two years now. But, at the recent Computex in Taipei, Taiwan, Nick Parker, Microsoft’s VP hinted that the company's old partner might come back on board, reported CNET. His statement at the event just strengthens the rumours surrounding the HTC W8. The name might be suggestive but it is not going to be a Windows version of the Android flagship One M8. It is also suggestive that it could be a Windows variant of the mid-range phone codenamed HTC A9. Earlier in the week @evleaks had leaked information about the HTC W8 running Windows Phone 8.1 with BoomSound speakers and Duo Camera which is a One M8 exclusive so far. The phone could also be an exclusive for US network Verizon with a possible release in Q3, and also possibly followed by launches in other regions. Parker’s comment are extremely suggestive in nature, but we have no idea about how the phone will look or what its specifications will be at the moment, but we sure can't wait to see how HTC follows up the Windows Phone 8X and 8S, its last efforts.
