HTC U11 Plus leaks reveal blocky design, 6-inch QHD plus screen and 4,000 mAh battery

Image OnLeaks/Twitter[/caption]The original HTC U11, which is still among the best Android phones that you can buy this year, impressed us with its simple design, great performance and stellar camera quality. The phone, however, doesn’t appear to be doing well in the face of competition from Samsung and Google, both of which launched some superlative phones this year.The upcoming U11 Plus model doesn’t seem to change anything much and on the surface and just looks like a larger U11. According to Couponraja and @OnLeaks, who were the first to reveal the renders, the phone is expected to launch on 2 November, packing in essentially the same hardware as on the U11. The ‘Plus’ in the name comes from the inclusion of a larger, 6-inch screen, and possibly, a larger 4,000 mAh battery.Nothing appears to have changed on the camera front either, which HTC likely to continue with its existing single lens camera on the rear. Couponraja thinks that we will see 4/6 GB RAM variants with 64/128 GB of storage as options. The display is expected to sport a resolution of QHD+. Performance should be excellent, given that the phone is expected to ship with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip.One can expect the ‘Liquid surface’ design and Edge Sense features to carry over to the larger phone.Quite frankly, the renders suggest a phone that is quite thick and just a little bit ugly. We’d love to see HTC do something interesting with the phone rather than go in for this blocky design.
