HTC announces mid-range Desire 600 with quad-core CPU; launching in June

HTC has unveiled the new HTC Desire 600 dual-SIM smartphone, the first mid-range handset to offer the company’s Sense 5 experience. The Desire 600 will be available in Russia, Ukraine, Africa and the Middle East from early June onwards. India availability has not been announced, but considering it will be available in the Middle East region, we expect that at least some online retailers will be shipping the phone to India.

The display on the HTC Desire 600 is a 4.5-inch qHD panel, which might not sound great considering mid-rangers these days come with a 720p display. But at least it should help keep the price of the handset down. Speaking of which, HTC has not revealed any pricing details for the phone.

“Running the dual active system, the HTC Desire 600 allows you to have two SIM cards active all the times, enabling you to receive a call on one line, even if you are already using the other,” says HTC’s press note.

Thanks to the Sense 5 UI experience, the Desire 600 will get the BlinkFeed homescreen and HTC BoomSound that are present on the flagship HTC One. The Desire 600 will ship with “Android Jelly Bean”, but HTC has not mentioned whether it will be Android 4.1 or 4.2.
