Google Maps now lets you take a virtual tour of the Moon, Mars

Fancy a tour to the Moon? With Google Maps you can, without leaving your chair. The latest update to Google Maps lets you explore the craters on Mars and take a virtual trip to the Moon right from the web app. As reported by Tech Crunch, Google has integrated Moon and Mars imagery to the Google Maps web app, which it demonstrates in the video below. The integration allows users to explore the planets Earth and Mars, and the Moon quite easily. To do this, you'll have to switch to the "Google Earth" mode on Google Maps. Zoom out as far as you can after the page loads in 3D. You should then see options for “Moon” and “Mars” at the bottom of your screen.  The feature is currently available only on certain browsers and platforms, and you'll need to switch to the latest version of Google Maps to be able to use Google Maps in 3D. To view 3D imagery in Google Maps, you'll need to upgrade to the latest version of Google Chrome, Firefox or Opera. Note that the feature currently works on Mac OS 10.8.3+, Windows 7, 8, or 8.1, Chrome OS with an Intel CPU and Linux operating systems. The Lite version of Google Maps does not have this feature.
