Google launches hub for experimental WebVR content

Google has launched a hub for web based virtual reality (VR) content to make VR experiences available to more people. At the same time, Google started allowing WebVR content on Google Chrome accessible on Google Cardboard, which was so far only available for Daydream capable phones.WebVR is an opensource JavaScript API that allows web pages to display interactive VR content. Google had started integrating WebVR into Chrome from July 2016.The hub is called WebVR experiments, and is a catalogue of interactive VR content that can be navigated using a conventional keyboard and mouse setup. Those with Google cardboard can enjoy a more immersive experience.Content creators can submit their VR creations for inclusion in the catalogue. Google has indicated that it will be adding support on Chrome for desktop VR headsets such as the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive.There is content available from Google Creator Labs and other content creators, with the source codes for most projects available on GitHub. The VR experiences include an interactive musical forest, a two player table tennis game, a speak to go experience that allows users to navigate to any place in the world by just telling the app where they want to go, an app that simulates rains of various objects and an app on the day night cycle of the Earth.
