Gionee Gpad G5 phablet with Hexa-core processor launched for Rs 14,999

Gionee has launched the successor to the Gpad G4 phablet, and at under Rs 15,000, this one could a surprise hit of the season. The Gionee Gpad G5 is priced at Rs. 14,999 and will be available next week onwards. There's no e-tailer exclusivity arrangement. The Gionee Gpad G5 features a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display with Asahi Glass Dragontrail protection against scratches and nicks. It supports dual-SIM functionality and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It powered by a Cortex A7 1.5GHz hexa-core processor (likely manufactured by MediaTek) and ARM Mali-450 MP GPU coupled with 1GB of RAM. The Gpad G5 sports an 8-megapixel rear camera accompanied by an LED flash, and a 2-megapixel front facing camera. It has 8GB of inbuilt storage with that can be expanded up to 32GB. Sports a 5.5-inch 720p display[/caption] Thanks to 3G support, the front camera can be used for video calls. In addition, one will find GPRS/ EDGE for cellular data. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and FM radio connectivity are also present. Gionee says the dual crystal loud speaker with DTS technology should provide optimal audio output for a mobile device. Finally, the new GPad sports a 2400mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 288 hours of standby time, and up to 12 hours talk time on 3G networks.
