G'Five to Bring Sub-10k Tablets to India

Chinese company G’Five, which has been making a name for itself as a mobile phone company, has said it will be launching Google Android and Microsoft Windows-based tablets in India by June. What’s more, these tablets will be priced below Rs. 10,000, which could be quite a steal.

Will cheap stuff be good stuff?

According to the Financial Express, "G'Five plans to launch its range of tablet computing devices in Indian market by the end of June 2011. We strongly believe that the benefit of the technology should not be limited to a few but must be available to the masses," Arshit Pathak, Managing Director, Kingtech Electronics India said. "Both the Android and Windows-based tablet computing devices shall be launched in India," he added. "These shall be WiFi and 3G powered and the price range will be below Rs 10,000 - shattering the price barrier once again.

The company plans to release a 10-inch Windows tablet, and two Android tablets which will be sized at 7 and 10-inches. Hopefully these tablets will also be powered by sufficient hardware. Either way, we’ll find out this June.
