Entry-level Micromax Canvas Fire A104 with Android KitKat available for Rs 6,999

The Micromax Canvas Fire A104 is the latest budget smartphone to hit the town, priced at Rs 6,999. It features a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. The Moto E, in comparison, features a higher resolution of 540 x 960 pixels for the same price. The phone runs on a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM and 4GB of internal memory. It should be speedy enough for calling and running most apps, though the low internal memory means it might struggle if you try to install too many apps. You can expand the memory to up to 32GB for saving your photos, videos and music, but not many apps can be saved on the micro SD card, with Android KitKat. The 1900mAh battery is larger than the 1800mAh battery we saw on the Micromax Canvas Bolt A69, though smaller than the 1980mAh on the Motorola Moto E. It comes with two SIM slots – one for regular-sized SIM cards and the other for micro SIM cards. Note that the phone allows 3G internet access only via the regular SIM and not via the second, micro-SIM card option. The Canvas Fire A104 runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and comes in attractive colour combinations of black and gold, white and gold and white and silver. Micromax claims the front-facing speakers will deliver powerful sound, though there's no saying till we get the handset in our hands.
