China's Meizu brand launch in India on 26 August; expected to launch MX5

Chinese smartphone maker Meizu will host an event in New Delhi which is scheduled for August 26. Though there is no confirmation, the company will likely announce the the Meizu MX5 in India during the event. As of now, Meizu has built a global presence in Hong Kong, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Indonesia, Thailand etc.

Chinese smartphone maker Meizu will host an event in New Delhi which is scheduled for August 26. Though are speculations that the company will likely announce the the Meizu MX5 in India during the event. As of now, Meizu has built a global presence in Hong Kong, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Indonesia, Thailand etc.The Meizu MX5 comes with a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It houses a Mediatek MT6795T SoC which has a true octa-core processor with eight Cortex A53 cores clocked at 2.2GHz. This is paired with PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3GB of RAM.Metallic body covers the phone except for the plastic design elements on the rear side to ensure no radio disturbances. It measures just 7.9mm thick and weighs only 149 grams. It comes with Android 5.0 along with Meizu’s Flyme OS 4.5.There is a 20.7MP camera on the rear side with dual LED flash unit. The camera unit has an f/2.2 aperture and laser aided focus mode. On the front you have a 5MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.It is powered by a 3,150mAh battery. Apart from this the MX5 also features a fingerprint sensor. On the connectivity front you get a dual-SIM configuration with LTE support, Wi-fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.1.In conversation with Gizbot, Tim Zhong, overseas sales and marketing head for Meizu said, "It's a brand launch, and we will talk about the products (at the event)." He emphasised on keeping the news for the August 26, though he did hint at announcements around the MX5 at the event.
