Apple to Release Budget iPhone?

While rumours are rife on Apple’s impending release date for the iPhone 5, there is a distinct possibility that Apple is planning to introduce budget iPhones for the masses. According to The Inquirer, Apple's COO and CFO, Tim Cook and Peter Oppenheimer, respectively, had a discussion with an analyst from RBC Capital Markets, Mike Abramsky, where they mentioned how a budget iPhone might just work out.

Apple to introduce budget iPhone?

Currently, Apple products dominate the upper end of the market and are considered as a ‘privilege’ rather than a ‘necessity’, due to Apple’s superior pricing structure. Besides the US and Bangkok, Apple’s iPhone is steeply priced in almost every other country in the world. So, if their strategy does change, then it seems that it will be a win-win situation for both Apple as well as its customers. Also, there’s a distinct possibility of more migration from Android and BlackBerry users.
