Apple to launch entry-level iPad, iPad Mini 5 in the first half of 2019: Report

This year, Apple is reportedly working on launching two new products in the first half of the year itself — an entry-level iPad and an iPad Mini 5.A DigiTimes report suggests that Apple is ready to kick off the production of two 'entry-level' models of iPad, which include the successor of the iPad Mini 4, and an update to the 2018 9.7-inch iPad. Reportedly, the touch-screen suppliers for the two products are gearing up to supply the components.While the DigiTimes report does not reveal a lot more than that about the new iPads, another report by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from last year did mention a similar timeline for the 2019 iPads. Reuters[/caption]Another report from last month from China Times supported the entry-level pricing of the new iPads saying that the products will not feature any radical change to its hardware, because of the idea to keep the prices down.In addition to that, the report from the Chinese publication also suggested that the upgrade to the 9.7-inch iPad will come with a 10-inch display instead.Simultaneously, a recent Macrumors report also hinted that at the same event, Apple may also announce the AirPods 2, which will likely have a new case that will enable it to be wirelessly charged using the new AirPower mat. They might also come with a new wireless chip that enables "Hey Siri" functionality. The AirPower mat in question was actually debuted a year ago, but for some very strange reason, it still hasn't made its way to consumers yet.
