Apple Music may soon get more Beats radio stations: Report

Apple may soon introduce more live streaming Beats radio to Apple Music. The company has reportedly trademarked applications for the word marks B2, B3, B4 and B5 with the US Patent and Trademark Office including the matching marks Beats Two, Beats Three, Beats Four and Beats Five as well.A report by Consomac states that the specifics of these possible future radios are unknown, and it would be risky to advance on a release date. The description in the patent application reads, "broadcasting and transmission of voice, data, images, music, audio, video, multimedia, television, and radio by means of telecommunications networks; broadcast and transmission of streamed music, audio, video, and multimedia content by means of telecommunications networks; matching users for the transfer of music, audio, video, and multimedia by means of telecommunications networks; providing access to websites, databases, electronic bulletin boards, on-line forums, directories, music, and video and audio programs."At the moment, it isn't very clear as to what Apple will do with these stations. Launched in June, Apple Music is Apple’s attempt to carry its dominance of digital music through its iTunes store into the era of music streaming. Chief Executive Tim Cook said in October the music streaming service had netted more than 6.5 million paid users, and that an additional 8.5 million people were participating in a free trial.
